Cheese rocks are called by the local population because of their surface, covered with cavities and caverns, like a wheel of good cheese. The official Turkic name is Tuzlukh, which means “salt shaker” - the general appearance of the rock complex from a distance resembles this tableware item.
Rocky chaos was formed under the influence of the sea. The main rock here is quartzite sandstone, which is not very resistant to external influences. Washed away by the waves, it collapsed in blocks, resulting in the formation of cliffs - sheer cliffs of the main shore. The sea did not leave any landslides or rock fragments in peace. The wind helped him in his destructive activities. As a result, a process called cellular weathering developed - numerous small depressions and depressions of irregular shape formed on the stones.
Interestingly, this is the only place like this in Crimea. Since 1960, it has been considered a natural monument, and the adjacent water area is also protected. But this does not mean that access here is prohibited: you simply cannot litter, light fires (and there is nothing to use), break stone pieces, or fish. Sunbathing is not prohibited even directly on the rocks. Their names demonstrate relative uniformity: both cheese and salt shaker are attributes of a feast. But the bay, where the unusual geological monument overlooks, recently changed its name, “donating” the old one to another object.
It was originally known as Love Bay. To a large extent, the area owes its intimate name to its desolation. But those times are in the past, and there are quite a lot of people here. People come either along the coastal edge through the Moskovsky beach, or along the top, passing the same sanatorium. So now the bay is called Blue. And the “love” name went to the one located near the lighthouse in, east of Malorechenskoye.

At one time, the Cheese Rocks had a chance to become part of the landscape of “Treasure Island” during the filming of a three-part Soviet television film. There is also a grotto where you can go and even swim. Vacationers are also attracted by individual remains scattered in the sea near the massif. They are shaped like miniature islands. They also jump into the water or sunbathe (who is not afraid to sit and lie on bare boulders). The bottom of the bay is rocky, and the water is clean (for this reason, it was given the not very original name Blue).
