On April 23, on Krasnaya Gorka, a youth festival of lovers will take place in Moscow for the first time. It will take place all day, from 12:00 to 21:00, at the Kremlin in Izmailovo.
The festival will feature a speed dating area. Young boys and girls will be given a few minutes to get to know each other. This will allow those wishing to meet several representatives of the opposite sex at once and choose a partner for the evening. According to legend, on Krasnaya Gorka, unmarried and unmarried people, if they want to find a good match, are not recommended to stay at home. They should go out to mass celebrations and get to know each other as actively as possible.
It is believed that marriages concluded at this time will be strong and happy, so the central theme of the festival will be a Russian wedding. Visitors will be able to see all stages of this traditional rite, including the bride ceremony, ransom and wedding.
Muscovites will also be shown an ancient pre-Christian Slavic rite - blacksmith wedding. Couples in love, under the guidance of a professional blacksmith, will forge iron hearts. You can take them with you.
Throughout the territory of the Izmailovo Kremlin, “love nests” will be equipped for couples, where young people can communicate with each other. Two-meter stilt walkers will hand out candies and balloons.
The festival will feature traditional competitions for men: tug of war, hammering nails and sawing logs. Blacksmithing master classes will also be held especially for “grooms.” Girls will be taught how to weave wreaths and braids, paint eggs, and make dolls and brooches. A competition for the title of the first beauty of Krasnaya Gorka is planned at the festival.
In total, at least 10 thousand guests will be able to take part in the festive program. Dance flash mobs and Russian folk games were prepared for them. There will also be Easter entertainment. Everyone will be invited to play egg rolling. Participants will roll eggs down a large wooden slide. If the egg remains intact, the year will be successful.
“We are pleased to realize the idea of holding a youth festival and combine folk festivities, folklore traditions and, of course, a romantic spring mood in it,” said Vitaly Suchkov, head of the Moscow Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations. — We invite everyone to the holiday, but especially boys and girls, to have a fun and interesting walk on Krasnaya Gorka. It is possible that the first Moscow lovers’ festival will become a good tradition.”
The press service of the cultural center “Kremlin in Izmailovo” added that the main idea is to create a comfortable and fun environment for free communication of young Muscovites and remind them of the importance of traditions in everyone’s personal life.
At the festival you will be able to try traditional Russian dishes: loaf, pancakes, round flatbreads and fried eggs - a symbol of the bright sun and spring. In addition to the dishes that traditionally decorated the Russian table on Krasnaya Gorka, guests will be able to snack on meat pies, cheesecakes, gingerbread and bagels. Drinks in the food aisle will include mead, sbiten, and horseradish.
The holiday will end with the launch of 20 white doves from the steps of the wooden church of St. Nicholas into the sky. At 21:00 there will be a fire show at the Kremlin walls.

Adults and children over 3 years old can go tubing down a 5-meter slide. Moreover, children under 14 years old must travel with their parents. If you have your own “cheesecakes”, then you won’t have to pay for skating at all. But it is not recommended to ride on ice floes or on your own soft spot. It’s easy to find the slide – it’s located near the skating rinks and rentals.
