It is customary to say about Evpatoria that it is a health resort, a pleasant climate, sandy beaches, but nothing more. It seems like there’s nothing special to see there, just lie by the sea or go for treatments at numerous sanatoriums and mud baths.
But in fact, Evpatoria is not a boring health resort town at all, but a vibrant crossroads of different religions and cultures - with museums of different nationalities, with the cries of Muslim heralds and minaret towers, spiers rising into the sky, an ancient working mosque and synagogues, with Orthodox churches and Karaite kenas. It is not for nothing that the tourist route through the old part of the city is called “Little Jerusalem” due to the mixture of religions, cultures and traditions. Medieval streets (Evpatoria is a truly ancient city - it is 25 centuries old!), monuments, places of worship of different faiths. The ancient buildings of the city preserve the memory of centuries.
You can start exploring “Little Jerusalem” from the ancient Gezlev Gate. Gezlev - that’s what Evpatoria was called before, it was a large city, which was even planned to be the capital of the Crimean Khanate. To this day, the entrance to the fortified city, which is called the Gate of the Wood Market, has been preserved here.
The former monastery of the Sufi order of Muslim monks - "tekie dervishes" - consists of a 15th century dervish monastery, the ancient Shukurulla Jami minaret and the Crimean Tatar museum in a tea house. The temple is a place for meditation and “dancing” of monks. It is worth listening to the music and watching the dervishes dance. An amazing sight!
Khan Jami Mosque, Merchant and Crafts synagogues, the restored Yegie Kapay synagogue, the Yoskin Kot museum-cafe, where you can try Jewish Olivier, Elias Church, the Armenian Church of St. Nikogaios, St. Nicholas Cathedral on the Embankment, on the facade of which three views are depicted crosses: Greek, St. George and Orthodox. It is worth paying attention to the absolutely amazing children's theater near Evpatoria, which is called “Golden Key”. This is not just a theater, it is an International Children's Center-Complex, which includes theater studios for children of different ages, a maritime professions club, various hobby groups and art and craft workshops. This unique place is located at Barteneva, building 1-5. And it’s really worth going there for both adults and children!
Here, on the basis of the center, there is the Gallery of Contemporary Art "theHARASHO" and the interactive museum "Clown House", which hosts performances and excursions, master classes for children. The Clown House has a children's club for kids, where you can temporarily leave your child with caring nannies.
Every year from July 1 to July 7, for more than 20 years, the theater has been holding the International Festival "Earth. Theater. Children", which attracts theater groups from all over the world!
And these days, not only the area in front of the Golden Key, but the whole city turns into one big stage, into a single cheerful, colorful carnival, with a festive procession, performances by artists, singers, dancers, fireworks and a parade of stars. This unforgettable sight, in my opinion, is the calling card of Evpatoria. Now this festival is taking place and I myself have just returned from there, I went specially to watch the performances, to join the general celebration of art and true international friendship!
The festival "Earth. Theater. Children" and the "Golden Key" theater are far from the only things that can attract tourists who come on vacation with children. Right in the center, on the Embankment, is the fabulous city of Aqualand near Lukomorye, and if you ever get there, you will not have a question about what to do with your child on vacation. Here, to a whole children's town, which is guarded by the head of Pushkin's hero, there are not just slides, but a whole interactive area for games, where children are always under the supervision of animators. Slides and water attractions await you: Gorynych Serpent, Gorynych's Tail, Swan Princess, Bogatyrskaya Gorka, Storm, Guidon's Throne. From 10.00 to 18.00 an adult ticket costs 1100 rubles, a child ticket costs 800 rubles. From 14.00 to 18.00 the cost of an adult ticket is 950 rubles, a child ticket is 650 rubles. The city of Evpatoria is one of the most wonderful places on the Crimean Peninsula, successfully combining comfort for vacationers, some practicality with a sufficient amount of entertainment and relaxation.
Evpatoria is divided into two parts, the old city and the new building. In the old city, the streets are located in some kind of wild chaos.
According to local legend, the old city was built in a very original way, without taking into account geographical features. Higher clergy came to the supposed place and one of them threw a stone behind his back, where the stone rolled - in that direction the street. The old town is built in an incomprehensible way, the development is a bit like a game of chess between two amateurs (whoever wants to, can do so). In addition, the restorers did their best; each street (like a twin sister) is similar to its predecessor. It's easy to get lost. My advice, so as not to waste your and your loved ones’ nerves while on vacation wandering around the streets, buy a map. Fortunately, there are enough of them in kiosks. In addition, the map shows almost all the sights, monuments, even markets of Evpatoria. A very practical thing.
And there are plenty of ancient monuments in the city. Juma-Jami Mosque, Karaite Kenassy, Tekie Dervishes, ancient Orthodox churches. Every hour, excursions to the most significant historical monuments are organized for everyone. The price of these excursions is “penny”. Excursion to Keraim Kenassy - 10 UAH, to Tekie Dervishes - 20 UAH.
But such excursions are good for adults. The kids are not interested in this thing, give them something more fun. The children's fairy tale park is just such a place in Evpatoria. The quiet, picturesque park houses more than 30 characters from everyone’s favorite Soviet cartoons. All characters are skillfully made of wood and painted with bright colors. A real children's park. Children “have a blast” climbing into Baba Yaga’s hut, sitting astride the Serpent-Gorynych.
The park is very clean and well maintained.
Another rare attraction of the city is an old red tram. Groaning, creaking, but it will take you both to the Old Town and to the market or square.
The main attraction for vacationers is the embankment, with endless entertainment venues and cafes. It is on the embankment that the favorite statue of the “local nudist” is located. The statue is always full - full of people.
In my opinion, every vacationer tried to capture himself against the background of the statue. It seems like a good tradition. We were no exception.
Not far from the embankment, there is a small alley along various shops. Here they make money in a newfangled way, trying to become a monument. People dress in costumes from historical eras of past centuries, putting on makeup to look like statues, and stand like that (poor things) all day long on pedestals, sometimes only changing their position.
At the bottom of each pedestal there is a bank, where everyone throws a coin (to anyone, as much as you don’t mind). It looks beautiful, but when you think about how much strength and endurance it takes to stand in the sun all day, you just feel sorry for these guys. This is probably why their money banks are never empty.
There is another place where you will be actively invited. Mineral spring. Anyone can come and get water for free. Of course, according to local guides, this source “has very healing properties.” Water of hydrogen sulfide origin. The smell is disgusting. But we haven’t checked how healing it is or not.
Sometimes it seems that in order to see something amazing or exciting, you need to go, as in a fairy tale, “to distant lands.” It is a myth! Crimea is a fabulous place that you need to visit at least once in your life. You can spend a pleasant time on your vacation or just a weekend in such a wonderful city as Evpatoria. The city has its own gift for every visitor: for romantic lovers and newlyweds - old noble estates, where the romantic spirit of love and tenderness reigns, for noisy couples with children, a visit to the dolphinarium and aquarium or the Dinopark of Evpatioria will be unforgettable, for young people and students on vacation - night clubs and the republic of Kazantip. As a professional art historian, I enjoyed the fascinating and informative excursions to the sights and historical environs of the city, and the museum exhibitions simply captivated me with their originality and the historical spirit of past centuries.
Evpatoria: sights and activities
The foundation of the city dates back to the time of the Greek colonization of the peninsula. Kerkinitida is the first name of the settlement that the Greeks founded on the site of modern Evpatoria. Probably, it is precisely because of the Greek roots that the spirit of Ancient Hellas hovers around the city, and the city’s mosques tell about the majestic Crimean Khanate, which owned this territory until the 18th century. I began my acquaintance with the sights of Evpatoria from museums, where, in addition to interesting excursions, one could also take photos with the sights of Evpatoria as a souvenir.
Museums of Evpatoria
At first glance, you might think that Evpatoria is a purely resort town with beaches and restaurants. In fact, not every city in the country can boast of having nine museums:
- Museum of Local Lore;
- Wine Museum;
- Space Museum;
- Museum of A. Akhmatova;
- Book Museum;
- Museum of Medicine;
- Postal Museum;
- Pharmacy Museum;
- Museum of World Art.
Of course, it was simply impossible to visit all the museums and describe them to you with photographs. We managed to visit only two museums: the local history museum and the pharmacy museum. Now the remaining seven museums are a reason to return and continue your “romantic” relationship with the sights of Evpatoria.
Local Lore Museum of Evpatoria
The museum has a complex and tragic history. The fact that this scientific and cultural institution operates and receives visitors today is a titanic effort and the enthusiasm of its employees. The museum begins its history in 1921. During the Great Patriotic War, the museum was not evacuated and was practically destroyed. Since 1968, the city authorities again opened the museum, and today visitors and scientists (historians, archaeologists, art historians) from all over the world come to this local history museum. The most important exhibition halls in the museum are: archaeological, dedicated to the Greek period of the city’s history, and medieval.
Museum-pharmacy
This amazing and unique museum is located in one of the oldest buildings in the city. The construction took place on the site of an old pharmacy, which was opened there back in 1823. I liked two things about the museum: first, it is open every day, and second, there is no guide in the museum. It was great to wander from rack to rack and leisurely look at the old pharmaceutical equipment and pharmaceutical equipment for making medicines. All exhibits are signed and have a brief description of their creation and use.
City parks and monuments
You can write a separate fascinating story about the city’s parks. They amaze with their beauty, well-groomed and green spaces. Each park is a small island with its own flower inhabitants, tree houses and paths. In Evpatoria I recommend visiting and seeing:

Church of St. Elijah
At the very edge of the city's embankment there is an ancient Greek church. The temple was built at the beginning of the twentieth century: from 1911 to 1918. Now the church regularly hosts church services, which are conducted by priests of the Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
St. Nicholas Cathedral
At first glance at the iconostasis and the vault of St. Nicholas Cathedral, the soul simply rushes upward, because the cathedral was painted by Florentine and Russian masters. The cathedral has a long history of creation, and the consecration of the temple was carried out in 1899.
Juma-Jami Mosque
This mosque is visible from afar, as it is located on a hill. The main mosque of the city of Evpatoria is its cultural heritage. Its history dates back to 1552, and since then the building has been remodeled and restored many times. During the period of Soviet power, the mosque, of course, was just a museum, but after 1985, believers regularly pray in it.
Temple center of the Crimean Karaites
Since 1837, this temple complex has been the spiritual center of all Karaite communities in Russia. It consists of a Large and Small prayer house, a religious school, a dining room, a farmstead and various courtyards. If you are going to take photos with the sights of Evpatoria, then these wonderful courtyards in the Renaissance style are a great place for memorable photos.

I managed to stay in Yevpatoria for more than a week, but if you only have one day, this is not a reason to be upset.
It is best to have time to get around the central part of the city during this day, where you can admire the monuments and sculptures of the city’s main street, Duvanovskaya.
Here, on the central Theater Square, I advise you to take a photo as a souvenir of the sights of Evpatoria. You can also go to the Evpatoria kariz - one of the oldest water pipelines in the city.

Now Evpatoria is a colorful green city, and it’s hard to believe that it wasn’t always like this. Aquarium
It is located on the territory of one of the most popular parks in Evpatoria - Frunze Park. The atmosphere in the aquarium is very mysterious and pleasant: the halls are made in the style of cave grottoes, twilight reigns and the reflections of water are displayed on the walls.

In the aquarium you can find many different marine life, some of them very unusual, such as the snake fish and the arawana, which can jump to a height of three meters above the surface of the water.
You can also look at huge sharks that can grow up to 10 tons, and only glass separates these huge fish from visitors.

Dolphinarium
Another great place where you can have a great free time with your children. Evpatoria was the first city in Crimea to open a dolphinarium in 1996, and today this dolphinarium is the largest on the peninsula.
It offers a variety of entertainment programs that will be of interest to both children and adults. On the water scene, in addition to dolphins, you can see fur seals, white whales, and sea lions.
You can also personally interact with a dolphin if the child is over five years old and knows how to swim (this option is also available for adults, but only if they weigh no more than 100 kg).

Water park "At Lukomorye"
One of the most popular tourist destinations in the summer, even despite the close location of the beach. The water park is located directly in the open air, so it is only open in the summer.
Stylistically, it is based on the fairy tales of A.S. Pushkin (as one might expect, judging by the title). It includes a huge variety of water attractions: children's slides, more extreme adult slides, as well as 3 swimming pools and a relaxation area.
On weekends you can successfully attend various animation programs and colorful performances. There is also a cafe on site where you can have lunch and take a break from the heat.

Waterpark "Banana Republic"
Another water park located at the entrance to Evpatoria. The area of the water park is about 4 hectares, and it includes 8 swimming pools and 25 water attractions.
An interesting feature is the location on the sea coast: firstly, it offers a beautiful view of the sea, and secondly, the water park has its own beach, which allows visitors to take a little rest on the shore from the noisy slides.
Speaking of slides, there is a huge variety of them, of different types of complexity: there are both fun family slides, like “Springboard”, on which you can organize speed competitions, and extreme ones, for example, “Kamikaze” with a height of 21 m, an open track, steep turns and free fall effect at the end.

lost World
Who in childhood did not read encyclopedias about dinosaurs and dreamed of seeing these giant reptiles! Now you can do this by visiting a wonderful park. The sculptures here are “live” and full-size! They can move, growl and breathe.
Of course, these are all machines, but it’s quite easy to use your imagination, and for impressionable people (especially small children), the roaring huge lizards can be quite frightening.
All exhibits are made in great detail, next to each there is a sign that, in simple language, but based on real scientific data, tells about the lifestyle and biological characteristics of a representative of the ancient world.

Park "Crimea in miniature"
An option for those who don’t like to go on excursions or don’t have time to see everything, but still want to see the main attractions.
The craftsmen who worked on the creation of miniatures tried to strictly observe the proportions of real buildings and paid a lot of attention to detail. So, it is quite possible that a visit to the park, on the contrary, will inspire someone to travel to the places they like.
Despite the fact that the miniature park is not the only one in Crimea, it has its own highlight: it is an impressive light show of 100,001 light bulbs, which can be admired after sunset.

Tropicpark
This is a tropical corner located right on the territory of a children's amusement park. But to get to the tropical inhabitants, you will have to dare and enter the dragon’s mouth (this is how the exotarium is stylized).
In essence, this is a petting zoo, only instead of the usual rabbits and hedgehogs, you will be able to pet and hold pygmy monkeys, lemurs and even a capybara. You can admire the colorful exotic birds, which have a separate floor of the complex.
Another pride of the park is the huge anaconda located in the terrarium, and there are plenty of other reptiles on the territory.

Rope park
Rope parks are always perceived as children's entertainment, but this place is quite suitable for adults, because the park has special extreme adult trails. So, it’s a great place for those who are still an active and curious child at heart.
Of course, children will also like it here. There are also children's trails, and they are definitely more popular than adults. Despite the fact that passing obstacles is a very fun activity, it is also educational.
But it is worth remembering the safety rules: children under 130 cm tall and adults weighing more than 100 kg are not allowed on the slopes; it is also unacceptable to go on the slopes without equipment (instructors will explain the rules in more detail).

Gezlev Gate
This is a reminder that once on the site of modern Yevpatoria there was a Tatar city of Gezlev. The gate was built at the end of the 15th century, and was called “Odun-bazaar-kapusy”, which translated means “Gate of the wood market”.
They received this name due to the fact that at the entrance to the city, right behind these gates, there was a bazaar where mainly firewood was sold. The path of the Crimean khans often lay through these gates when they came from Bakhchisarai, where the khan’s capital was located, to Gezlev to pray in one of the most beautiful mosques on the Crimean peninsula.
Now you can not only look at the gate from the outside, but also visit the museum, which is located on the first and third floors. It is also worth having lunch in the ethnic cafe on the second floor, where you can get acquainted with real Tatar cuisine.

Museum of Local Lore
The museum was founded in 1925 and was located in the former estate of the merchant Gelilovich M.Yu., which was confiscated some time after the revolution. Moreover, many household items and cultural values were confiscated along with the estate and exhibited as exhibits.
In general, at the beginning of the museum’s existence, most of the exhibits were confiscated belongings of wealthy nobles. Subsequently, more than 200 paintings were added to the museum’s collection, which were collected all over the world.
Unfortunately, the museum suffered greatly during the Nazi occupation: it was looted, and most of the exhibits were taken to Germany. In 1944, it began to be gradually restored. Now the museum’s huge collection includes about 80 thousand exhibits related to the rich history of Evpatoria.

Evpatoria glass pyramid
Not only Paris can boast of such a creation; there is a glass pyramid in Yevpatoria and is located near the Museum of Local Lore. It is intended not so much to attract tourists, but to create a canopy over the ruins of Kerkinitida.
This ancient settlement was created by the ancient Greeks, who migrated from their native places due to overpopulation. It turns out that scientists had been trying to discover the settlement for a long time and were looking mainly in the surrounding area; few would have thought that another ancient one was buried under the modern city.
Behind the glass you can see many ancient artifacts that clearly tell about the life of that time, about politics and trade.

Crimean War Museum
The museum is a branch of the Local History Museum, and was opened in 2012. By visiting it, you can learn about the difficult period in the history of the peninsula. Moreover, usually when the Crimean War is mentioned, the first thing that comes to mind is Sevastopol, but we should not forget that the first landing of hostile troops took place precisely in the area of modern Evpatoria.
The museum is small, but has pretty good prospects. Among the exhibits you can see the uniforms of soldiers and officers, various types of weapons, portraits of leaders of warring states, and a model of the French frigate, which was the first to land troops on the shore of the peninsula, is also especially valued.

Theater named after A. Pushkin
You can set aside an evening from your coastal vacation for cultural enlightenment. Theatre. A.S. Pushkina is ideal for this purpose.
It boasts a rich repertoire, so you can find theatrical productions to suit every taste: ballet, plays, comedy performances, musical evenings. Unfortunately, the theater does not have its own theater, so touring artists perform on stage.
In addition, the theater is recognized as one of the most beautiful in the south of Russia. The building was built in the Greek style with Art Nouveau elements. The terrace offers a beautiful view of the sea, so during intermission you don’t have to run to the buffet, but stand and admire the scenery.

Theater "Golden Key"
Despite the name, which implies only children's repertoire, adults will also be able to find interesting productions to suit their taste. After all, the theater has three halls in which performances are held for different age groups: from performances for the youngest to plays with a restriction of 16+.
What is really interesting about the theater is that, in addition to standard productions, it hosts creative evenings and master classes for children. Moreover, any child can try his hand at acting and take part in a production on stage without any hindrance.

Temple of St. Elijah
Construction of the temple began in 1911 and continued until 1918. Upon completion of construction, the temple was consecrated in the name of the Holy Prophet Elijah.
The temple was erected on the initiative of the Greek community of Evpatoria, so it is made in the traditional Greek style and designed by the city architect A.L. Heinrich.
Despite the simple lines and outlines in the image of the church, multiple decorative details (stained glass windows, graceful pilasters, arches with columns) fit very organically into its appearance. The three-tiered bell tower is striking, the dome of which is visible even from the sea.

St. Nicholas Cathedral
The temple was founded in 1893 and consecrated in 1899. It is dedicated to the liberation of the Crimean Peninsula from the Anglo-French-Turkish troops. St. Nicholas Cathedral is often compared to Hagia Sophia in Constantinople. It is made in the traditional Byzantine style and is an octagon.
Also striking is the huge main dome, 18 m in diameter, at the base of which there are beautiful stained glass windows in a circle. It is interesting that three types of crosses were used in the design of the temple: St. George’s (in honor of the fallen), Byzantine (associated with the campaign against Constantinople) and Orthodox.
On the territory near the temple there is a monument to A.V. Suvorov, who in 1779 saved Gezlev from the plague epidemic by introducing strict quarantine measures and opening free public baths.

Juma-Jami Mosque
The mosque was founded by order of Khan Devlet I Geray in 1552. Created by the famous architect of that time, H. Sinan, it is still considered the most beautiful in Crimea.
The author was partly inspired by the Hagia Sophia in Constantinople, which can be seen in the appearance of the mosque. It was reconstructed a huge number of times, restored, and after the advent of Soviet power it was closed and used as a warehouse. Only in the 90s it was restored.
Now the appearance of the mosque is closest to the original building. The huge main dome, 11 m in diameter at a height of 22 m, and two minarets 33 m high are visible from almost anywhere in the city and serve as landmarks. Today the mosque is open to visitors not only to believers, but also to tourists.

Armenian Church of St. Nikoghayos
The church was built in the very center of the Armenian quarter on the site of an old wooden building. Construction began in 1817 and took a very long time, as there were not enough funds.
Today, the original facades of the buildings remain intact, made of smooth white stones. The architecture of the building is quite simple, there is also no rich decoration inside, the entire interior is made in muted beige.
An interesting fact: during construction, hollow vessels were placed in the facades of the building, and it is because of this that the temple has such good acoustics. I would also like to highlight relics that are especially valuable to parishioners: an icon dedicated to the Armenian genocide and a painting with the Armenian alphabet.

Karaite kenasses
This is a whole temple complex, which includes the Big and Small Kenassas, a school, a dining room and an inn. It was built at the beginning of the 19th century by the architects the Bobovich brothers.
The entrance to the kenassa is decorated with a triumphal arch and columns. Also on the territory there is a grape courtyard, which is a 30-meter corridor with a metal lattice entwined with vines, a marble courtyard, which is a direct continuation of the grape courtyard and lined with Italian marble.
There is also a courtyard for waiting for prayer and a lapidarium, where samples of ancient writing are collected. Well, the kenassas themselves: the small one, in which services are held on weekdays, and the large one, where services are held on weekends and holidays.

Synagogue of Yeghia-Kapai
The first stone of the synagogue was solemnly laid in 1911, and already in 1912 the first service was held. Construction was carried out mainly with money from the Jewish community, although the Duma of Evpatoria also provided significant assistance.
After the revolution, the synagogue was closed due to religious persecution, and during the fascist occupation it was converted into a stable. Restoration began in 1998 and reopened in 2003. The walls are made of yellow limestone; there are 3 entrances to the synagogue: the middle one for men and 2 side entrances for women.
The main attraction is the altar on which the Torah scroll is located. The synagogue ministers receive not only believers, but also conduct excursions for tourists, completely free of charge, although it would be more correct to leave a voluntary donation.

Tekie dervishes
This is the only surviving Muslim monastery on the territory of the Crimean peninsula, founded at the turn of the 14th-15th centuries, and it has been preserved almost in its original form.
It was built for dervishes - wandering Muslim monks who renounced worldly goods and devoted their lives to serving God and helping other people.
The monastery consists of several buildings, which include a mosque, a Sulfian madrasah (educational institution) and the teks themselves, which are analogous to the cells of Muslim monks. Everything is decorated very modestly, but at the same time the monastery has a very mysterious and pleasant atmosphere.

Ancient settlement "Chaika"
This ancient city existed in the period of antiquity in the 4th-2nd centuries. BC, and discovered it in 1959, when they were building a sanatorium, after which the settlement was named.
During the excavations, in addition to the usual household items of the Scythian and Greek inhabitants, real works of art of that time were discovered: a limestone relief, which is a sculpture of Hercules, and a bronze figurine depicting an Amazon.
According to art historians, the author of these works was the ancient sculptor Lysippos, who worked at the court of Alexander the Great himself. The bronze figurine is now located in the Hermitage, and the sculpture called “Hercules on Rest” has joined the collection of the Evpatoria Museum of Local Lore.

Museum "Pirates of the Black Sea"
The museum is very young, founded only in 2013. It is unlikely that it has anything to do with pirates; rather, it was created to tell visitors in popular language about maritime affairs, the history of navigation and the life of sailors. But, nevertheless, the museum has an interesting design in the form of sailors’ cabins and rooms with pirate treasures.
It is also worth noting the very attentive staff, who will conduct an interesting excursion and help you immerse yourself in pirate everyday life.
Despite its young age, the museum already has a rich collection of exhibits, the main part of which consists of interesting finds from local divers. Children will find it most interesting, especially since the excursion lasts no more than an hour, so little sailors will not have time to get tired.

"House of Wine"
This is an option that will be of interest to an adult audience. Winemaking on the Crimean Peninsula has been thriving for more than 2000 years, and the House of Wine was created to educate tourists about the history and culture of consumption of this drink.
Here you can visit the museum, which displays a rich collection of exhibits, and some of them are about 2500 years old (Greek ceramic utensils for drinking, storing and transporting wine).
You can also sign up for a paid tasting and purchase your favorite products in the museum store. Moreover, you can find both budget options and exclusive 70-year-old wine (which, however, you will have to order and wait for delivery).

Museum-pharmacy
This historical pharmacy still exists today, and not only as a museum. Being the first Crimean pharmacy, it appeared back in 1823 and worked for about 50 years, after which the pharmacist Roffe bought the building, built his own mansion in its place and opened a new pharmacy on the ground floor.
The original shelves, scales, cones, and drug tags still remain, which today are exhibited as exhibits and create an amazing historical atmosphere, as if you really were in a 19th century pharmacist’s shop.
Since the pharmacy is still in operation, you can literally combine business with pleasure and get a little acquainted with the history of the pharmaceutical industry while purchasing medications. Although, it is better to come here not out of necessity, but just for an excursion.
Postal Museum
This is a young museum, established in 2006 on the basis of the existing post office number 14. A visit to the museum will help you learn about the development of postal services in our country.
This is the focus of the exhibition entitled “From Messenger to the Internet”, which clearly shows changes in the transmission of postal messages using photographs of different postal vehicles, depicted in chronological order. The museum contains several interesting exhibits: a postcard from 1914 and an issue of Iskra magazine from 1916.
It’s interesting that some of the exhibits are even used today in the work of the post office, for example, antique scales, which, despite their age, work with the accuracy of their electronic counterparts.

Museum "Kara-Torbe"
An interesting open-air museum is the ancient settlement of Kara-Torbe. It was created at the beginning of the 19th century, and in 1934 archaeologist P.N. Schultz began excavations that are still ongoing.
The museum presents a huge number of archaeological finds that clearly tell about the life of the inhabitants of the ancient city. Moreover, exhibits of both Greek and Scythian origin are presented, which allows us to conclude that two warring peoples alternately owned the city.
Interestingly, the purpose of the museum is not only an exhibition of finds, the base also houses a center for experimental archeology, the purpose of which is the reconstruction of ancient buildings.

Moinak Lake
This amazing lake with healing water was once part of the sea, but after the spit formed, it separated. It is believed that because of this, the water acquired its beneficial properties: minerals accumulated in it for a long time.
Mentions of the lake were found even in ancient Greek literature, only in the 19th century people became interested in its healing properties and began to actively study it.
Now, crowds of people come to the shores of this salty lake who want to improve their health, swim in salt water and do mud wraps right on the beach. But still, you should not engage in amateur activities, and it is better to consult a doctor. After all, one should not forget one simple truth: “everything is a poison, and everything is a medicine” - it depends on the dose!

Tram of Desires
This tram was the first to be put into operation in Yevpatoria in 1914.
It is also interesting because it is single-track, because because of the small streets of the city there was no place for full-fledged tram rails. The final stop is in Frunze Park, where you can buy a ticket for the magic tram and ride around all parts of the city, listening to the guide along the way.
Of course, with such a name, the tram has its own sign: in order for a wish to come true, you must step on the first step with your left foot, and at that time hold the handrail with your right hand, while formulating a wish to yourself, and then ride around the city.

Central Park Frunze
This is the most important and famous park in Evpatoria, which is very rich in entertainment and various activities. No wonder it is so popular among tourists.
In the morning, this is a calm place where you can sit on a bench near a picturesque fountain. During the day, it is an abode of fun and children's laughter with its own amusement park, children's city of fairy tales and access to the central beach.
And in the evening, the park becomes the center of Yevpatoria’s nightlife, filling up with street musicians, cheerful tourists and local residents, where you can find restaurants and cafes for every taste, and listen to a concert on the stage of the pop hall.

Duvan's house
This is one of the most beautiful buildings in Evpatoria, located in the Old Town area. And although the building is relatively young, created in 1902 by order of a large landowner S.E. Duvan, it fits perfectly into the architectural style of ancient buildings.
The house was designed in the Art Nouveau style by the famous architect of that time P.Ya. Seferov, who had already managed to build a good reputation in Simferopol. It is interesting that the owner himself did not even live in the house, but only rented out apartments to guests, so the estate acquired the reputation of Duvan’s guest house.

Evpatoria karting center
Those who are pretty tired of visiting standard attractions and the same type of beach holiday should turn their attention to karting. The tracks of the international karting center meet all quality standards; in 2017, it even hosted the Russian Championship, so it has been tested by professionals.
In this center you can either simply rent a car and special equipment for one race, or visit a karting school. Just make sure to call ahead before visiting to make sure there are no races taking place that day.
