Wild mint venue. Accommodation at the festival

On June 23, 24 and 25, the fields near the village of Bunyrevo, in the Aleksinsky district of our region, once again turned into a space of music, freedom and positivity for all three days. The reason for this metamorphosis is “Wild Mint” - one of the largest Russian music festivals. Last year I promised to return. Over the course of the year, I must admit, the memories faded a little, but at some point it became clear that this year I would be able to fully live in the atmosphere of the holiday for all three days of the holiday.

It may seem that the area involved is relatively small. BUT! Just look what it really looked like. I, of course, understand that this is not an indicator, but I had to wander around the tent camp in search of my shelter not only on the first day, but also later, even despite the fact that each “street” had its own name. For example, ours was named after Sergei Sobolev, and for associative memory I called it Sergei Sobyanin Street :)

I got to the festival this year thanks to the Tele2 company, and I was driving around with a yellow bracelet on my hand, while ordinary guests had green ones. I still didn’t understand what advantages this bracelet provided, besides passing through the technical parking lot, because they weren’t allowed to take photos of any of the stages behind the fence, and it wasn’t really a big deal, because the fences themselves were as close as possible to the stages.

If you remember my last year’s report, then visiting the festival involved visiting a mobile base station. This year, the MBS of three operators also stood outside the venue - MTS, Beeline and Megafon... But Tele2 did not have such a station.

Well, why is it needed when 4G is already available throughout the entire territory at a quarter of a hundred megabits per reception? So they thought so, having worked on the throughput of the nearest stationary BS. Alexey Geletsky, commercial director of the macro-region “Center” Tele2:

By following the concept of "Different Rules", we strive to become a telecom operator that provides more opportunities to its subscribers - both in mobile communications and beyond. We tried to make sure that the Wild Mint festival became a bright and memorable musical event for all lovers of good music, including many of our subscribers. Our task was to provide our clients with high-quality high-speed Internet and voice communications at the event site. To do this, we prepared the network in advance for the increased load and installed additional equipment at the base stations. And judging by the activity of subscribers, the large number of photos and videos they posted on social networks and positive reviews, we successfully completed this task.

By the way, in the Tele2 tent, subscribers were offered not only consultations, but also the opportunity to relax on bean bags, leave their gadgets in a mini-safe to charge, and also receive free water, cotton candy or tea. All that was required was to show the operator's name on the phone screen. According to the company, they distributed a lot of things: 800 pieces of cotton wool, 1,200 glasses of hot tea and 2,000 bottles of water.

Well, as for the festival itself, this year, it seemed to me, there was a lot less art and creativity - as if the festival this year had become more pragmatic and down-to-earth. One of the entertainments (surprisingly free!) was “zorbing”. Personally, I didn’t take the risk, although I had the desire.

This year it was clearly better with smoking areas - the organizers allocated several smoking areas, where you could simultaneously relax on a sun lounger and charge your mobile phone.

And of course about musicians and performances.

Anton Belyaev (soloist of “Therr Maitz”):
I didn’t listen to him (meaning the subsequent performance on stage is not my style), but I went to the press conference. I also wasn’t impressed as a speaker, although there was an interesting point. When asked “what did I learn from the show, what did I take away from the show?”, he honestly answered that it was impossible to learn anything from the show, and he took part solely for the PR of his own group. He says that the time of “mentors” is too valuable and they have too little free time for someone to teach someone something.

"Khartyga" (鹘):

A group from Tuva, working in the genre of psychedelic rock based on the Tuvan musical tradition. This needs to be heard live. Another discovery like “The Hatters” last year. Listen for yourself! And then imagine it being performed from a big stage with serious acoustics.

Special case:

A variation on the theme of the group “Accident”, Alexey Kortnev and music director Sergei Chekryzhov performed in this format. They performed fervently, performed their most delicious songs from “What did you mean” and “Generals of the sand pits” to “Screw it, screw it!” and “Choice,” which greatly amused the audience. In the last song above, the whole audience in one impulse shouted that word in rhyme, which Alexey Anatolyevich did not pronounce from the stage, laughing it off with the severity of the legislation. Well, it’s true with the mother tongue, listen at your own discretion:

Vasya Vasin and C.J. Plus:

Vasya Vasin is the lead singer of the group “Bricks” and needs no introduction, if you are between 20 and 40 years old, of course. He performed a lot of fun and rocked the crowd. On stage he behaved simply and politically incorrectly, despite his 44 years.

Of course, he performed the song “About Friends,” which even those who are not familiar with the group’s other works have heard anyway. Well, at least you’ve heard the foreign original, admit it?

But the sound was somewhat disappointing = (The track from the microphone came with some kind of overload, either by itself, or some kind of special effect. I didn’t like it, although the pleasure from the performance outweighed these disadvantages.

But an important part of the festival was not only songs from the stage, but also songs around the fire with a guitar! It all started immediately after (or maybe before?) the end of the artists’ performances, and it was three o’clock in the morning, after all. Morning dawn. On the first night I didn’t go to bed (which is why the next day, unfortunately, I missed the lecture of the Green Cat, aka Vitaly Egorov) - I came to the tent, wrapped myself in my sleeping bags and... realized that I wasn’t sleeping at all. Got out and went to the fire =)

What do you remember from the second day?

Karelia:

A band from St. Petersburg with a unique forest sound in the world-music style. The music is pleasant and the soloist is pretty (she performed barefoot, by the way).

Dose of joy:

Very positive guys from Rostov-on-Don, who played “warm tube” reggae. And by the way, many, if not all, believed in a miracle in Myat - the weather forecast, which promised rain all the time for all three days just before the start of the festival, gave way to rare precipitation, and in the end it barely rained only on one of the nights, minutes 30. And that's it!

And after he left the stage, the entire first row moved in unison in the same direction. I got my autograph and took a selfie. Well, I have a selfie than Kolya Manya is worse.

And in the evening Bi-2 performed. There was no crowd to get to the stage, although they performed soulfully.

On the third day I didn’t listen to much music anymore, I was getting ready to leave and, in principle, I left quite early. Many people left; after all, the main day in Myat is Saturday. Well, all that’s left is to wait a year. See you at Wild Mint 2018!

Evening...
Sad!
That's how my cosmic Wild Mint ended!
All good things usually end quickly and so does Wild Mint!
It was a magical, cosmic, wildly minty weekend!
And I was a participant in this miracle!
Thank you all so much for this atmosphere!
