Witcher 3 heart of the forest kill or not. heart of the forest

There are two ways to get a job:

  • Find a contract on the bulletin board in the port of Kaer Trolde;
  • Become a witness to the dispute of local residents in the village of Ferlund.

The inhabitants of the Village, which is famous throughout Skellige for unsurpassed hunters, are faced with a big problem: a monster that lives in the local forests regularly exterminates young men. The dispute flares up against the background of a corpse entangled in the roots of a tree. The parties to the conflict are Harold, the local headman and the young guy Sven, who is aiming for his place. The latter is sure that one should act radically and destroy the monster that causes so much trouble. The old man claims that these troubles are the price for the fact that the locals turned off the old path and do not honor traditions.

Taking up the investigation, Geralt, with the help of the witcher's flair, will conduct a search and find some very interesting evidence - the mutilated corpse of a dog, the body of a previous loser who inadvertently poked himself into the forest, and also a stone on which the monster sharpened its claws. Comparing the evidence, the witcher will come to the conclusion that the suspect is a goblin, but not quite ordinary. The monster lived in the world for so long that it became unusually powerful.

When studying a note about an ancient lesh in the bestiary, one more interesting fact will come to light: the monster chose an assistant from among the locals, marking him with a special blessing. While this person is alive, the goblin also cannot die, and in the event of an unexpected death, he can be reborn.

If you tell Sven about this, he will offer to start by finding a person who bears the mark of the devil, and then act according to the circumstances. Harold will shed some light on the situation. The forests around Ferlund are an inexhaustible source of game, the locals are healthy, and the women are so prolific precisely because of the neighborhood with such a powerful creature as the ancient goblin. The fact that he got angry is the fault of the villagers themselves, who rejected the old order. The monster can be appeased, but a special ceremony will be required, proving that the great hunters have not died out in Ferlund.

What happens if you perform a ritual

It is not difficult to find the altar on the map - a car route leads there, and it is located no further than a couple of minutes walk from the village. The test is that Geralt will have to fight five white wolves - the most dangerous predators in the local forests.

In fact, the pack behaves like ordinary wolves or wild dogs in the game. The difference is that white wolves deal more damage, and each has more health. The battle tactics are the same as with any group of predators - try not to let them come in from the flanks and from the rear, keeping all individuals in sight, and kill one by one with quick accurate blows. From the bodies of dead wolves, hearts should be collected, which will be required for the ritual. The fact that everything went well will be confirmed by a flock of crows that will flock to stare at the witcher. You can turn in the quest to Harold.

What happens if you kill the goblin

If you decide to kill the spirit of the forest, you will need to find a person. Marked with his seal. As it turns out, this is Hilda, towards whom Sven is breathing unevenly. You can find a girl in the company of other women near the forge. You can do it in different ways: send her into exile or let Sven's henchmen deal with her. Regardless of the decision made, we will not meet this character again in the game.

Having reinsured yourself from the revival of the goblin, you can take on the main part of the task. First you need to destroy a few totems that feed the goblin with power. They are guarded by wild animals and plant roots, but it will not be difficult to deal with them. The easiest way to destroy totems is with the Igni sign.

After the destruction of the last totem, the goblin itself will appear, accompanied by wolves. When animals are killed, new ones will come out of the forest. It is most effective to attack the goblin when he is left alone, and the new wolves have not yet had time to approach. His most dangerous attack is a root strike after dissolving in the air. Significant damage can be avoided by using the Quen sign or by performing rolls.

Despite the long preparation, the monster itself can hardly be called too strong. If the level of your character matches, if the icon and the name of the goblin are highlighted in green, you can deal with it without much difficulty. In addition to the agreed amount, as a reward, Sven will also give Harold Rogue Boots - a magical item with resistances to melee damage, but without any set bonuses.

A decoction of the ancient goblin

After killing the goblin's body, you can collect a hunting trophy: The heart of the goblin and the mutagen from the ancient goblin is a relic alchemical ingredient that is not found anywhere else in the game. With knowledge of the recipe, the witcher will be able to prepare a decoction of the ancient goblin. You will need one share of the following components:

  • The mutagen itself;
  • Krasnolyudsky alcohol;
  • gination petal;
  • honeysuckle;
  • Mandrake root.

The effect of the use of decoction - the signs used in battle increase the energy of the character. This buff is especially effective in builds based more on the use of witcher signs than melee weapons.

Whether to let Sven kill Harold

Regardless of how the quest is completed, in the end, Sven and his assistants will descend to deal with Harold. Since the witcher will have already received the reward by that time, the result of the conflict will not affect him, but will directly affect all the inhabitants of the village of Ferlund. After killing Harold, Sven will take his place and become the headman of the village. From an ethical point of view, this is not entirely good: it is better for the village to be run by a judicious old man who has seen life, who honors the customs of his ancestors, than a hot-headed young man who prefers to act boldly and often behaves like a petty criminal.

You can stand up for Harold, but then you will have to kill Sven himself and his friends. There will be no valuable drop from their bodies. An interesting bug happens to some players: there is no loot bag left in place of Sven's body, and Sven himself can be found wandering around the village in a few minutes. He will no longer enter into a dialogue with the witcher and will behave like an ordinary background NPC, issuing random remarks.

Finally, it's time to leave the continent and go to the islands of Skellige covered with a halo of gloomy splendor - a rocky archipelago covered with virgin forests, consisting of six large islands and many small ones.

It is extremely difficult to get to these islands from the continent, rarely one of the ship captains dares to take a course on Skellige, the reason for this is the notoriety of the islanders as sea pirates who do not know the pity that is rooted in the heads of people living on the continent. However, we manage to find a captain in Novigrad who is ready to take us to the islands for an impressive fee. And so, having reached the archipelago not without adventures, we have the pleasure of contemplating the incredible and harsh beauty of the local landscapes. But we didn’t come to Skellige to paint pictures, so it’s time to do witcher work.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

Bjorg posted his announcement on the board in the port near Kaer Trolde, we'll take it there. Or you can immediately turn to Bjorg, who in the port will simply get the phrase “Hey, witcher, are you looking for work?”, Because we will have to pass him more than once, not twice.

Sooner or later, the boatmaster will get the attention of the witcher and immediately dump all the bad news on him. It turns out that the locals are annoyed drowners. Just drownings. A trifling matter for a witcher. According to Bjorg, these drowners are viciously vicious, attacking even warriors at any time of the day.

Information is a weapon as good as a sword, and there is still little of it, so it is necessary to talk with witnesses of the attacks. Bjorg will advise us to contact his student Rurik and to Tuva, whose husband was killed by utopians. But first, let's talk about rewards.

You can trade: Bjorg consistently agrees to 280 CZK.

Now you can question the witnesses. Let's start with the apprentice boat master, since he is very close to the customer. Rurik will tell us about the death of his brother, when they pulled traps for crabs from the boat and about their miraculous salvation, after the drowners turned the boat over and Rurik ended up in the water.

Well, we already know one place of the attack, so we can immediately advance there. Or let's ask Tuva as well. We decide that it would be nice to listen to the widow as well. You can find it right there in the port.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

The drowners attacked Tuve's husband, when he once again came to the Kjerag rocks out of anguish to look for the boat of his son, who had not returned from fishing. Now we have another place where drowners attacked.

1. The site of the utopians' attack on Tuva's husband.

2. Place of the attack of drowners on Rurik's boat.

Choose first place (1) and explore the area, casually destroying a couple of drowners interfering with our investigation. On the shore we find body another victim, from which a mile away carries drowners.

We go, and then we swim on the trail of the stinking smell, diving into the flooded tunnel and we follow in the footsteps of the utopians.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

In order to swim through the tunnel, there should be enough air, but for insurance, you can take a sip of the elixir "Orca". Having overcome the tunnel, we find ourselves in a stinking cave. Silt and carrion are direct signs that the den of utopians is somewhere nearby. Along the way, we destroy the drowners hanging out in the cave (they will loiter right in a cloud of flammable gas, so you can throw bombs at them or fry them with a sign "Igni"). After passing a little more, we get into the lair.

The lair can be entered using second way (2). Once in place, we notice crab traps, from which carries all the same drowners.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

Let's go by smell and we get into the same cave, only from the other side (unlike the first path, we don’t have to swim under water) and find there the femoral bone with traces of long sharp claws. Strange, such traces are not characteristic of utopians.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

We kill all the same drowning drug addicts who cheered themselves up while in a cloud of poisonous gas, and we come across the lair.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

However, this is not a den of drowners. We will come to this conclusion if we examine the cave, in which we find deposited in reserve animal carcasses And heaps of boards, ropes and sails- the monster decorated his dwelling according to feng shui, and also corpses with traces of strangulation. Everything says that this is a lair water woman.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

However, while the witcher is in the lair, the water woman will not come there, so we decide to cheat, since the water woman tolerates drowners near her, so why not start smelling like a drowner. For this we will make "drowned pheromone potion"(his recipe will be automatically added to us in the "Alchemy" section).

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

All the ingredients needed to make the elixir can be found in the cave. Krasnolyudsky alcohol is in a dead-end tunnel in the lair of a woman in chests.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

Having made and applied the potion for its intended purpose, as well as anointed the silver sword oil against carrion eaters, let's hide near those very chests in anticipation of our woman who is not alien to the aesthetics. She will appear, but not alone, but accompanied by two gentlemen who will interfere in every possible way with our “communication” with the water woman, so we need to get rid of these habits in the first place. For this sign "Igni" suits best. And the woman herself rarely refuses to get a tan. There is not enough space in the lair, so we move intensively, because at any moment we can catch a lump of dirt thrown by a woman with our face, and while we wipe ourselves off, the drowners will give us a couple of blows. Therefore, for insurance we use "Quen".

After killing the escort, and then the woman, we will take it from her corpse trophy and among other things relic steel sword "Day Star" *

Arriving at the port of Kaer Trolde, we report to Bjorg about the completion of the task. Here we will have a choice:

We can put pressure on the master to get a bigger reward, because we took an order for drowners, but we had to fight with a water woman. Bjorg, of course, will not like this development of events, however, under the pressure of the witcher, he will give us all the money he had (instead of 280 crowns, he gave me 420).

We can just pick up the reward and go home.

Let's leave Ard Skellig for a while and go to the ancestral island of the Brokvar clan Spikeroog.

In the village Svorlag we will stumble upon an order on the notice board. The customer is located nearby on the seashore. You should ask him about everything. Maybe we can get more information from him. However, nothing new Kevan he won’t tell us, he still doubts that the monster is to blame for the disappearance of his sister’s fiancé. In general, the story is confusing and it is not clear what our investigation will result in, all of a sudden, in fact, Nils has escaped and will have to run after him all over the islands, so it’s not a bad idea to raise the price of our services.

You can trade: Kevan consistently agrees to 279 CZK.

Now it would be nice to talk to Briton Maybe we can get more details from her. We will find the heartbroken girl a little north of the village on the shore of the bay - before the disappearance of Nils, this was their favorite place.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

Britt will tell us that she saw with her own eyes how her fiancé was dragged away to the caves in the south the islands are some kind of winged creature of impressive size. Draconid? Quite possibly. To find out for sure, you just need to look into those caves. We go there by land or by sea, taking a boat in the village.

The cave will be by no means uninhabited. There we will be met by our old "acquaintances" in a fairly decent amount. The time is not right for fraternization, so we meet drowners with a silver sword drawn. Having introduced the first batch of bluish scum to our sword, we examine the cave and find traces of not a draconian, but overgrown sirens.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

We follow the trail and find an impressive view statue, near which drowning people rub. This statue must certainly be examined, but the wretched corpse-eaters will interfere with us here, which means they will have to share the fate of their deceased comrades.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

It looks like Britt was right, the proof of which we will find by getting out of the cave and finding dead body poor Niels. Damage to the body will tell us about the cause of death - a fall from a great height.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

In combat, we will mainly use crossbow, That's why oil against hybrids It is not necessary to smear on the sword, but if you really want to, then you can. Unlike other flying beasts, Melusina will not fall to the ground when hit by a crossbow bolt, she will only hover in place for a short time. This time should be enough to drive another crossbow bolt into her, and another, and so on until victory. Echidna will always attack us from the air, diving and striking, which, along with dealing damage, will also cause poisoning, so before the fight it would be nice to take a sip of the elixir "Oriole" or keep a sign ready "Quen". When the echidna begins to dive at us, you can apply the signs "Aard" or "Igni". Having fallen under the influence of these signs, the creature will fall to the ground and we will have the opportunity (if we are lucky) to stab it with one blow of the sword. "Hornval Horn"(if by that time they had already acquired it) in a battle with Melusina it is completely useless, its sound is not terrible for her.

Having overcome the echidna, we take away trophy and head back to the village to Kevan to present proof of Britt's correctness.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

Kevan will be very embarrassed that he did not believe his sister and will ask the witcher himself to tell Britt about the fate of Nils. Choose how to proceed:

    1. "Okay, I'll tell her"- we take the reward for the order, go to Britt and tell her about the bitter fate of her lover. The girl will offer us a reward of 25 crowns. To take or not to take, that is the question.

    2. "Tell her yourself"- Kevan should talk to Britt himself to atone for his mistrust. We receive a well-deserved reward from Kevan and we are free.

We return to Ard Skellig, because all the remaining orders will be waiting for us there.

Approaching the body, we immediately find ourselves embroiled in a conflict between young hunters and elders. The first were eager to destroy the Spirit of the Forest, considering it an ordinary monster, while the elders considered the Spirit the patron of the village, now punishing its inhabitants for violating the ancient foundations, the murder of which would entail indescribable troubles. It is useless to ask about the beast, the locals will not provide us with any sensible information.

Before taking sides, you need to inspect the forest and determine what kind of Spirit of the forest it is.

After examining the area near the body, we find footprints going into the forest. We'll have to follow these tracks into the thicket itself.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

After walking a short distance along the tracks, we will stumble upon dog corpse with wounds inflicted by thin and very sharp claws.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Witch orders. Skellige Islands

Not far from the village of Ferlund on the Skellige Islands in The Witcher 3, you can get the task "Heart of the Forest" from the bulletin board.

We leave for the village. A group of local residents discuss the death of one of them. The corpse, squeezed by the branches, froze in an unnatural pose with genuine horror in its eyes.

Headman Harald believes that one of the villagers angered the spirit of the forest and he took revenge on the deceased. The villagers believe that some dangerous creature has started up in the forest, and it needs to be hunted down and killed. Of course, simple men with pitchforks can hardly do it, and Geralt was here just in time.

The headman did not take the monster killer too kindly, flatly refusing the order, but one of the villagers enthusiastically promises to come to an agreement, if only the witcher finishes the monster.

Then you can ask people a little about the so-called spirit of the forest, or you can immediately get to work.

The questions are not of particular importance and it will not be possible to find out something really useful, the only thing that becomes clear right away is that the headman is obscure, perhaps he is hiding something. One way or another, he is the only one who is not eager to hire a witcher, believing that the spirit of the forest is simply taking revenge for disturbing his peace. An Craite used to hunt with a knife or a spear and were always full - and the spirit of the forest approved of this...

Harald is interrupted by Sven, it was he who placed the advertisement for the order for the witcher. The guy says that they were simply slaves of their own fear - the creature from the forest killed before, but because of the war there are fewer hunters, and the monster is more bloodthirsty. Sven wants to free the forest from the beast so that people can hunt in peace.

We've heard enough, it's time to start ordering.

First you need to look around near the place of death of the villager. The Witcher will stumble upon a trail that we have to follow. First, a dead dog will come across, then there will be another poor fellow, who, apparently, died the same death as the man on the outskirts of the village.

We continue to move until we get to the circle of stones, wolves will be waiting for us inside, we kill them and look around. There are many traces of claws on the stones, after examining which, Geralt will conclude that a goblin is operating here.

It's time to look into the bestiary. We need " Spirit of the forest", which is located on the "Relics" tab. It turns out that the local goblin became so strong that he was able to mark the "chosen one", one of the villagers. As long as this unfortunate creature was alive, the creature could safely respawn near its lair.

Having learned this information and imagining what we have to deal with, we return to the village to talk either with the headman Harald or with our customer Sven. Harald continues to stand his ground. Only thanks to the spirit of the forest, he says, the area is full of living creatures, women give birth to healthy children and their hunters are considered the best on all the islands of Skellige.

But we know that this is just a seasoned goblin, incredibly strong, but still killed, and Geralt is probably tough for him.

However, the headman has another option for stopping the terrible deaths. Harald offers the "path of the spirit" - a kind of ritual that his ancestors performed. You need to go to the forest with a knife and a spear, hunt a strong beast, fight it in a fair fight, the Spirit of the forest should like it, and then, having laid gifts, you can reconcile with it.

Options for passing the quest "Heart of the Forest"

The order "Heart of the Forest", like most tasks in the game "The Witcher 3", has several options for the development of events.

After a conversation with Harald, we have to make a choice: agree with him and go to the "Path of the Spirit" or insist on killing the old goblin and go to Sven.

monster slaying

The man will be glad to know that the spirit is an ordinary monster and can be killed. Geralt will inform him that the goblin is very ancient and he is very dangerous not only for the villagers, but also for the witcher himself. Geralt will also talk about the label worn by one of the residents, Sven will point to Harald without hesitation.

It seems the puzzle is solved, the mark explains the warden's suspicious behavior, but we need to know for sure, so it's best to look around. As it turns out, the village girl Hilda will be “labeled”.

We return to the customer to talk. Sven is sure that the “chosen one” is one of the elders and it seems that he is ready to personally tear him apart, because he helps the monster. Geralt will tell you that the "marked one" often does not know what helps the devil, but this will not embarrass Sven at all, he is determined to get rid of the monster and his friends in the village.

Again you have to make a choice: let the villagers deal with the "chosen one" or offer to drive him out of the village.

Kill the Chosen One

Sven will send his thugs to kill the elders of the village, but the witcher will stop him, because the “chosen one” is Hilda. Upon learning this information, Sven will be very upset and even think for a second, because he is in love with a girl, but he will still decide to kill, because this is important for the whole village.

We have to go into the forest and destroy the goblin totems, of which there are only three, and two of them are guarded by wolves. By breaking them all, we will anger the goblin. Now, with the help of the witcher's instincts, we go to the sound in order to meet with the spirit of the forest.

In battle, the goblin will actively call for help from wolves and crows. The wolves are not difficult to deal with, and the crows will only be a little annoying, causing minor damage to the witcher. Against the goblin, relic oil and the “igni” sign are useful.

Not the most difficult opponent, even despite the fact that sword damage is very weak on him. The fact is that the goblin, although ancient, is very vulnerable to ignition and fire damage, the “igni” sign will practically do everything for us, especially if it is strengthened by glyphs and bonuses from weapons.

Having finished with the monster, we pick up the trophy and return to Sven. In the village, we see that Sven did what he planned - he killed Hilda and a few other poor fellows who, apparently, were trying to protect her. Despite this, our customer is happy, he gladly accepts the trophy and says that he got rid of the monster's allies, after which he gives the money.

We are once again faced with a choice. Geralt can accuse Sven of murder or just take the money and leave.

Almost nothing depends on this choice, except for a few replicas:

  • If you accuse Sven of murder, he will announce that he did it for the good, saved the village from fear, because there are no more monsters here.
  • If you just pick up the reward and leave, Sven will tell the people to disperse, there are no more monsters here.

In his own way, of course, he is right, but why are killers better than the goblin? Everyone knows perfectly well that there are no monsters worse than people. However, that's a completely different story...

Expel the Chosen One

Sven will send people to expel the elders, but the witcher will also stop them and explain that the “marked one” is Hilda. Sven will drive her away, then you can ask why he does not go with her? After all, Hilda seems to be important to the guy. To which he will answer, so that the witcher does not poke his nose into other people's business and goes to kill the goblin.

Further events develop according to the first option - we go to the forest for a rendezvous with a monster. Despite the fact that we offered to expel Hilda, upon our return the same picture will await us, all in blood and mountains of corpses. Sven decided to get rid of the spirit goblin's allies once and for all. There is no monster worse than a fanatic who believes that he acts for the benefit of all people, regardless of their lives...

REWARD - 60 crowns and relic boots of the killer.

"Trail of the Spirit"

Finally, if we refuse to kill the spirit of the forest and agree with the headman, we will need to go into the forest to the altar he spoke about.

There will be a pack of wolves, kill them, collect hearts and put them on the altar. Ravens will fly to the place of offering, apparently they will make sure and report to their master about our intentions, it seems that we did everything right, the ravens fly away, but we just have to return to Harald for a reward.

The headman is glad that we made the right choice and gives the witcher a reward. Before leaving, Geralt will condemningly tell the headman that because of these rituals, young guys who will try to become hunters will still die. Harald understands this perfectly and asks not to condemn local traditions. They survived like this for decades, and you shouldn’t meddle in someone else’s monastery with your charter ...

It seems that everything ends, but, as it quickly turns out, all this time Sven and his gang have been killing the elders, considering them accomplices of the monster, and only Harald survived. Sven asks not to interfere - the men do not want their children to be taken away by the monster and want to put an end to this.

The Witcher will again have to choose: protect the elder or spit and leave, leaving the locals to solve their own problems.

  • Having protected the elder, we will enter the battle, and we will have to kill Sven and his three friends.
  • In the event that we decide not to interfere, the witcher will finally tell them all that they are worth each other - killing Harald, Sven will not change anything. But the guy thinks differently and there's no stopping him...

Where to find (on the map):

How to start- You can get this task in two ways, either by using the announcement board in the port of Kaer Trolde, or simply by being in the village of Ferlund.

Once in the village of Ferlund, you will witness a dispute between the villagers, coming closer to them, you can find out the reason for the disagreement. Harald, pointing to the corpse tangled in roots, will try to explain to Sven that they broke old traditions, which angered the Spirit of the Forest. Sven, in turn, is sure that this is the work of an ordinary monster from the thicket, which has already caused the death of five hunters. Interested in the corpse, Geralt decides to take part in the dialogue and offers the inhabitants his services as a witcher, Harald will not be happy about the appearance of the "killer" and will tell him to get out, Sven, who is interested in getting rid of the monster, will support the idea of hiring a witcher. Of those who remained alive, no one saw this Spirit of the forest. The marks of the teeth of predators and the pecked out insides of the body in the roots will make Geralt think about the manner of killing the victims, Harold will add that such a death as this, the Spirit of the Forest punishes only cowards, for the brave at heart he has a completely different, worthy death. According to Harald, the spirit decided to take revenge on the inhabitants because they began to violate the traditions of hunting, after which the clarification of their relationship with Sven will continue and you will no longer be able to find useful information from these people.

It will be necessary to understand for yourself what is happening here, and who is to blame for this. To begin with, you will need to explore the forest, in which the witcher's instinct will help you. At the first point, you will need to find the corpse of a dog, on which you will find thin, but deep wounds, as well as traces of a monster.

Continuing along the path in the direction of the tracks, you will stumble upon a stone with the corpse of a victim whose bones were crushed, this requires great strength.

In the next place, in addition to the white wolves that will immediately attack you, you can find claw marks on the stone.

Having received all the information, the witcher will come to the conclusion that the monster that annoys the villagers is a very old goblin, you will have to read about him in the bestiary to continue.

Next, you will have choice carrying his consequences for the villagers, but before choosing the right one for you option, you can still chat with two people Sven and Harald, each of whom will have their own point of view on how to deal with the devil ( how to proceed, you decide, but in any case, victims cannot be avoided):

1. Talk to Harald - The Witcher will inform him that he has found out that the monster that plagues the village is Leshy and he is able to cope with it. Harald, on the other hand, believes that it was the influence of the goblin that made the inhabitants invincible, forcing them to turn into great warriors, the forests are full of animals precisely by the will of the goblin, which is why this village is famous for the best hunters in Skellige. He will also mention a certain ritual that every novice hunter must go through, in which not everyone survives, which is reminiscent of witchers. Geralt will ask about another method that Harald mentioned earlier. He will tell the witcher at the ritual, which should calm the monster, it is he who will need to be performed by Geralt in order to rid the village of Leshy's rage. You can immediately agree with Harald or talk to Sven.

If you decide to follow Harald's advice, then you will have to go to the altar and pass a test in which you will have to fight five wolves, whose hearts, after the victory, will need to be collected and placed on the altar for the ritual. Having done all this, the witcher will light hearts, to which a flock of crows will flock (you will be able to notice the goblin during the ritual).

It remains to return for a reward to the old man. He saw the smoke, indicating the ceremony, as well as the dance of the ravens, which indicates that the goblin accepted the sacrifice. Having thanked the witcher for solving the problem, Sven and his people joined the conversation, they had already managed to deal with all the elders, and now only Harald remained. You will have a choice with consequences:

I will not let him be killed - the Witcher will be against killing Harald, you will have to fight Sven and two of his people. Harald will live.

It's none of my business - Sven will deal with Harald, as well as with the rest of the elders who supported the old rites, and Sven will become the ruler of the village.

2. Talk to Sven - You will find Sven talking to Hilda, he obviously has some feelings for the girl. Informing him that you managed to find out that the monster that plagues the village is an old goblin, with whom the witcher will be able to deal with for a fee. But there is one feature, the goblin chose one of the inhabitants of the village, and while he is in it, he will not be able to get rid of him completely. That is why you will have to find a mark on one of the villagers.

You can find the mark with the help of the witcher's flair from the same Hilda, which you can find next to the forge.

Returning to the sven, who suspects all the elders of conspiring with the monster, you will have to make a choice that will have consequences for the fate of the girl.

You must get rid of the tagged one - Sven's people will kill Hilda.

You must expel the marked one - Sven will order his people to expel Hilda from the village, telling her not to appear here again.

In any case, in order to kill the goblin, you will first need to destroy all the monster's totems, upon approaching which you will be attacked by the roots of the monster, as well as wolves.

In order to destroy the totem, you will need to either use the sign of Igni, or simply hit it with a sword.

After destroying all the totems, you will need to follow the sound made by the monster, after which the goblin will appear surrounded by wolves.

How to kill a goblin (Spirit of the forest):

In the battle with him, oil against relics, as well as the sign of Igni, will help you. The whole battle with the monster, wolves from the forest will come to his aid, which in themselves are very dangerous, so for a start it is better to deal with them and as soon as you are left alone with the goblin, immediately attack. he has the ability to dissolve in the air and attack from afar with the help of roots, so as soon as he starts to lower his hands to the ground, do a roll.

After defeating the monster, do not forget to collect trophies, you just have to return to the village to receive your reward. Sven has already managed to deal with the elders in your absence, including Harald, you will not be able to punish him, but as a reward, in addition to crowns, you will also receive killer boots.

How best to proceed- it's up to you, but if you follow the path of Harald, you will follow the traditions of the village and in the end you will be able to get rid of Sven, who acts like the last bandit who decided to create lynching and arbitrariness.

In the port of Kaer Trolde, on the notice board, you can find a note from a certain Sven from the village of Ferlund, who needs the help of a monster master!

Head to the village, it is located in the central part of Ard Skellige!

At the exit of the village, near the old forest, you will stumble upon a fierce dispute between the elders and the new ruling group led by Sven.

All the trouble because of disagreements over old customs - Trials of the spirit of the forest to cajole nature. A lot of young men die because of this custom, says Sven. But the elder, on the contrary, that they say they stopped honoring traditions, so the village is waiting for punishment. In general, tell them that you will understand.

Follow the tracks and marks, so you will get to a clearing with totems and marks of the goblin. In fact, there are 2 ways to solve this problem:
1) Talk to Sven, and tell him that Leshy has already marked the person, and he won't just leave. This person will be Helga (like Sven's mistress). She can either be killed or exiled. Then you need to go into the forest and destroy Leshy's totems, killing him and his wolves along the way. Then return to the village, and by that time Sven will cut all the elders and a new era of the village will begin - under the leadership of Sven.

2) After searching in the forest, go to the Elder, he will tell you that you can solve the problem peacefully by passing the tests of the forest. Well, I prefer this option.

We go to the indicated place with the place of offering, kill 5 white wolves and collect their hearts.

I put it on the temple. The Spirit of the Forest will be pleased. Return to the village.

There, Sven's guys cut all the elders, except for one. You have a choice to help him or to give him up. In general, we chop Sven and his accomplices into cabbage and talk with the elder, after thanks, the quest ends.

Consequences:
- If you follow Sven's path, the village will be attacked by wolves. Since it was this custom that cajoled the Spirit of the Forest, which controlled the wolves.
- And Sven just wanted to get power over the village, and not solve the problem with the forest.
